The Starter SNS is a disposable,
short-term-use version of Medela's Supplemental Nursing System.
Several design modifications make the Starter SNS an economical
alternative to the standard SNS. Its unique one-way teat/valve
comes with medium-sized tubing and also functions as a primer
and feeding-assist device. If needed to reward a reluctant
nurser, the teat can be used to push small amounts of supplement
into the baby's mouth.
Like the Supplemental Nursing
System, the Starter SNS keeps the baby on the breast for proper
stimulation and avoids the nipple confusion that can occur
if a bottle and nipple are used. The Starter SNS is easy to
use and thanks to the QuickClip that attaches the unit to
a gown, bra or shirt. The one piece teat/tubing assembly attaches
to the container with a few quick turns, and pre-cut tape
attaches the tubing to the breast in seconds. Includes teat-tubing
assembly, QuickClip, tape strip, elastic ring, tubing clamp,
white membrane, disc and instructions.
